MyBookaro Pro requires an active, valid license to boot premium modules. Lite continues working with or without Pro, and even when a Pro license has expired.
Activate your license #
- WP Admin → MyBookaro → License.
- Paste the license key from your purchase email.
- Click Activate.
- Wait for the status to flip to Active (usually a couple of seconds).
After activation, Pro tabs appear in Settings: Payments, Calendar, Messages, Webhooks, Reports, Exports, Staff, Custom Forms.
What gets sent on activation #
- License key
- Site URL
- Plugin version
No analytics or telemetry. The licensing service responds with a signed payload that’s verified locally against an embedded RSA public key.
Deactivate before moving sites #
If you’re migrating to a new domain, deactivate first on the old site so the seat frees up. Otherwise activation on the new site may fail with “seat limit reached”.
If your license expires #
- Lite keeps working normally.
- Pro premium modules stop booting (Payments, Calendar, Chat, Reports, etc.).
- Pro updates are blocked.
- Existing data stays untouched. Renewing re-enables everything.
Troubleshooting #
- “Invalid license” — verify the key, check that the site URL hasn’t changed, and check that
BOOKARO_PRO_LICENSE_API_URLis reachable. - “Public key missing” — your Pro plugin is older than the licensing system; update Pro to the latest version.
