Pro license operations: activate, deactivate, check status, and recover from edge cases.
Activate #
WP Admin → MyBookaro → License → paste key → Activate. See Getting Started → License activation.
Deactivate #
Same screen. Frees the seat. Use this before migrating to a new domain or transferring ownership.
Check status #
The license screen shows current status (Active / Expired / Invalid / Revoked) and the next renewal/expiry date.
Auto-update #
When the license is active, MyBookaro Pro checks for plugin updates against the licensing API every 12 h. Updates appear under Plugins like any other WP plugin update. Failures back off (5 m base, 6 h max).
What sends to the licensing service #
- License key
- Site URL
- Plugin version
No analytics or telemetry. Communication is over HTTPS to https://mybookaro.com/?bookaro_license_api=1.
Constants for advanced setups #
BOOKARO_PRO_LICENSE_API_URL— override the API URL (white-label setups).BOOKARO_PRO_LICENSE_PUBLIC_KEY/BOOKARO_PRO_LICENSE_PUBLIC_KEY_B64— embed a custom verification key.BOOKARO_PRO_LICENSE_ITEM_TOKEN/BOOKARO_PRO_LICENSE_ITEM_ID— identify which product the license is for.BOOKARO_PRO_LICENSE_DEV_MODE=true+WP_DEBUG=true— local dev bypass.
Common issues #
- “Seat limit reached” — deactivate from the previous site, then activate here.
- “Invalid signature” — clear plugin caches, ensure outbound HTTPS to the license API works, then re-activate.
- “License expired” — Pro modules unloaded; Lite still works. Renew to restore.
